Consumer Complaints Code

The evolution in the take up of ICT services in Mauritius makes it incumbent upon the Authority to deploy more efforts towards safeguarding consumer interests. The framework for doing this is becoming ever more complex with so many services now being offered on converged platforms.

Consumer complaints are normally channeled to the Department of Marketing and Communications but input is sought from the other departments depending on the nature and type of complaints in order to make the process more effective. To better safeguard and protect consumers, the Authority has set up a Consumer Complaints Code to help in monitoring and tracking the various types of complaints which are lodged. The coding system will be for the internal use of the Authority only but will go a long way towards more rigorous monitoring of the industry in the interest not just of the industry but of the end users.
