ICT Authority reinforces its online customer services with a platform for Dealers’ Licence applications

As part of its ongoing response to the COVID 19 pandemic, the Information and Communication Technologies Authority is further enhancing its online services to support the prevailing Stay Safe and Social Distancing measures.

The Authority is launching another online platform, this time, destined for applications for its Dealers’ licence.

According to the First Schedule under Section 24 of the ICT Act 2001 (as amended), a holder of the Dealers’ licence is authorised to sell, expose or offer for sale or hire and repair radiocommunication or telecommunication apparatus or devices or their spare parts that are type approved by the ICT Authority.

The platform caters for new online applications. Applicants can also amend or cancel or withdraw previous online applications made on this platform.

The platform is intended at streamlining the processing of applications. Applicants must create an account on the system through which they need to submit all the relevant documents required to support their applications or other requests.

Once an application is submitted online, it is only after confirmation of receipt of payment of the processing fee of Rs 2000 at ICT Authority that the application will be processed.

To maintain the contactless approach, the Authority is maintaining a payment only via bank transfer or Internet banking. The banking details of the Authority are as follows:

Name of Bank: State Bank of Mauritius Ltd.

Bank’s address:
1 Queen Elizabeth II Avenue, Port Louis
Account Number:61030100023327
Swift Code: STCBMUMU
IBAN: MU87STCB1170030100023327000MUR

Currency: Mauritian Rupee

This latest online platform follows the launch of a previous one last week which was aimed at ICT consumers wishing to lodge queries or complaints. Last year, the Authority also launched its Portal for Clearance of ICT equipment.

All the procedures necessary for users are visible on the Dealers’ platform accessible on https://www.icta.mu/applyonline. Assistance required to navigate its features may be sought via email: info@icta.mu or via phone: 2115333.
