Amendment to Section 24(9)(b) of the ICT Act

The Authority wishes to draw the attention of its licensees that it is granting a moratorium period up to 15 January 2022 for payment of all licence fees which are still due for a period of at least one year. Failure to settle outstanding licence fees within the moratorium period will result in valid licences lapsing automatically on 16 January 2022 and the ICT Authority reserves the right to take such action as legally advised to recover the unpaid amount. This announcement follows the coming into effect on 05th of August 2021 of the Section 24(9)(b) of the Information and Communication Technologies Act 2001, as amended by the Finance (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2021, which provides that a licence shall lapse where fees with respect to the said licence remain unpaid for a period of one year.
