Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of:

1. CONSUMER AFFAIRS OFFICER (CAO)

QUALIFICATION

A.

(i) Cambridge Higher School Certificate or passes in at least 2 subjects obtained in one certificate at the General Certificate of Education (A Level); and

(ii) Diploma in Communication Studies or Public Administration or Management or Social work or Social Studies or Sociology from a recognized institution or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the Authority.

B. Candidates should –

(i) have sound interpersonal and communication skills;

(ii) demonstrate necessary skills in a front-end customer work environment;

(iii) have an aptitude to deal with complaints from customers; and

(iv) be computer literate;

DUTIES 

1. To attend to incoming complaints and/or queries from ICT consumers and of customers of the Authority’s services across all channels, and through the use of available modes of communication.

2. To liaise with all departments of the Authority to resolve consumers/customers issues and problems.

3. To compile data and information relevant to consumers/customers’ queries and complaints and to prepare reports thereon;

4. To assist in the coordination and conduct of all activities of the Authority’s Consumer Outreach and Education Programme.

5. To perform such other duties directly related to the main duties listed above.

REMUNERATION (Consumer Affairs Officer)

Rs 27400 x 825 – 35650 x 900 – 37450 x 950 – 42200 x 1300 – 46100 x1575 – 49250 x 1650 – 52550 plus ER.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

On the permanent and pensionable establishment, subject to successfully completing one-year probation.

2. PART TIME SAFETY AND HEALTH OFFICER (PTSHO)

QUALIFICATION:

A Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety as laid down in the Occupational Safety, Health and Welfare Act. Candidates should be registered Safety and Health Officers.

DUTIES

1. To be responsible for the formulation and administration of safety, health and welfare policies of the ICT Authority.

2. To ensure compliance with legislations in force.

3. To plan, organize, implement and maintain adequate health and safety measures for the ICT Authority.

4. To carry regularly risk assessment of all work operations within the Authority and formulate and implement appropriate measures to obviate any risk to the Safety and Health of any employee, and to make recommendation thereon.

5. To liaise with government institutions, private organisation or individuals on all matters related to Safety and Health of employees of the Authority.

6. To investigate any occupational accidents and dangerous occurrence, analyse the collected information and develop, implement and monitor preventive measures.

7. To train employees in safety and health matters.

8. To advise on all matters relating to Safety and Health.

9. To perform other duties directly related to the main duties listed above or related to the delivery of the output and results expected from the Safety and Health Officers in the roles ascribed according to posting.

REMUNERATION (Part Time Safety and Health Officer)

Monthly allowance of Rs 25,000, plus refund of bus fare.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

One-year contract.
